Davis Islands
D. P. Davis built the islands during the 1920s land boom by dredging fill from the bay over two small natural islands, Little Grassy Key and Big Grassy Key. Tampa General Hospital is at the northern tip, the islands are also home to Peter O. Knight Airport and the Davis Island Yacht Club, and East Davis Boulevard is the neighborhood's shopping street.
Mediterranean-style buildings from the original development still stand, with newer homes built beside them.

After Helene
Hurricane Helene's storm surge flooded much of Davis Islands in September 2024. Homes, cars, and the shops in the island village took water. Two years on, some flooded houses on the islands have been demolished and larger homes are going up in their place.
If you are still clearing a flooded garage, emptying a house before a rebuild, or thinning out a storage room before the next storm season, we remove damaged furniture, carpet, appliances, and debris. We do not do house demolition, mold remediation, or structural work.

City Service
Davis Islands is inside the City of Tampa. Single-family homes and small buildings of up to four units with an active City solid waste account receive one S.W.E.E.P. bulk pickup a year, up to 10 cubic yards, on the date set for the neighborhood.
Building materials, electronics, and yard waste are excluded from S.W.E.E.P. piles, and larger condo buildings are outside the program. For anything the program will not take, or anything that cannot wait, call us.

Davis Islands Questions
Yes. We remove waterlogged furniture, carpet and pad, appliances, and debris. We do not do mold remediation, demolition of the house, or structural repairs.
