Mid-Island
Holmes Beach is the city in the middle of Anna Maria Island, between Anna Maria to the north and Bradenton Beach to the south. The Manatee Avenue (SR 64) drawbridge comes onto the island here, at Gulf Drive, so Holmes Beach is the first island city you reach coming from Bradenton on Manatee Avenue.
The housing mix runs from beach houses and duplexes to condos and full-time homes, and many homes are rented to visitors. That mix drives most of what we haul: rental furniture that has worn out, appliances replaced during a remodel, and the contents of homes that are being sold, rebuilt, or downsized.
Still Rebuilding
Holmes Beach took a hard hit in 2024. The city’s damage assessment after Hurricanes Helene and Milton covered 3,331 structures, and by mid-October crews had hauled more than 105,000 cubic yards of debris off city roads, including over 58,000 cubic yards of construction and demolition debris. The mayor noted that Milton’s surge ran about 20 inches lower than Helene’s.
The rebuild has kept going since. By late March 2025, the city had issued more than 2,000 post-hurricane building permits. Renovations and repairs create their own junk: old cabinets, carpet, appliances, and furniture that did not survive or no longer fit the new layout.

Curbside or Full Service
Waste Pro holds the city’s trash collection contract. Regular garbage goes out Mondays and Fridays, and bulk waste and appliances are picked up at the curb only by request, for a special fee, scheduled through Waste Pro.
Curbside pickup works when the item is light enough to drag to the street and you can wait for the date. It gets harder with a third-floor condo, a sleeper sofa, or a full unit to clear between guests. In those cases our crew carries everything out, and you get a price in person before anything moves. Pricing is by volume, there is no mileage surcharge for the island, and any county disposal fees are reviewed with you on site.
Condos
Stairs, elevators, and long carries from a unit to the parking lot are all part of the in-person estimate. If your building needs notice, has elevator hours, or requires a certificate of insurance, tell us when you book. We can send a COI or W-9 ahead of the appointment and coordinate with the association or front desk.
The Process

The crew calls about 30 minutes out, walks through what is going, and quotes a price before starting.
Once you approve, they load up, sweep, and sort what they can for donation and recycling.
